Carrillo Rods + CP Pistons in a stroker

Hey all,

Im thinking of ordering a set of Carrillo Rods + CP stroker pistons and combining them with a OEM 100mm 4g64 crank.

Would this be a tough, reliable setup? Good for RPM? Or should I stick with an I beam rod?

Regards,
Alex

That would be a strong setup. Reliability we rely on what you are trying to achieve with the car. A balanced 2.3 short block can rev to 7,000+

The car will be used on the street, but primarly for Trackdays, Time attacks, tarmac rallys and the like.

Looking at a ATi harmonic balancer as well.

Anyone else?

Would these rods be better then an 'I' beam?

There is a school of thought that prefers one type of rod over another depending upon the application, but unless you're really going to put the screws to it (e.g. 600 ft/lb), I'm not sure it's worth the concern.

I'm not intimately familiar with them, but I know of nothing fundamentally wrong with them.

I only use CP pistons so I like them, And use Carrilo rods on most builds and only Arrow rods on my realy big builds.

CP pistons are very good, Ive used them in quite a few builds and I know a lot of guys making extreme HP with them. Carillo rods are probably the best money can buy, so you cant go wrong with them either.
