Post your setrab/mocal oil cooler pics with setup
Alot of the setrab oil cooler post are so old the pics are removed.
Please show your pics and information :
Why you prefer hoses in or out?
Does it matter which is inlet or outlet?
Preferred hose?
Best hose connectoin to oil filter housing..etc.
thanks

I'd like info on this, too. I have been toying with the idea of developing a kit. I have access to the resources, though I am not an expert. Maybe I'd develop a kit for myself and stop there. We'll see....

OK it's funny you guys mention this. I have been doing alot of research on this, and have found a few things. AMS makes the best kit out there for the price, $535 through TTP engineering give them a call - I talked to the owner and he said he was letting them go for that much shipped. If we could get a group buy, maybe TTP or possibly another vendor on the board will chime in and offer us a group buy. I'm more than willing to pay $450 shipped.
Lets take a look at this first:
http://www.amsperformance.com/instru...structions.pdf
To make an oil cooler work, you'll need:
-Setrab 25 row oil cooler $200-$250
-Setrab adapters for the fittings (the blue adapters on the oil cooler in the above link) $20
-Brackets for the Setrab, which is another problem, I want a clean install!
-Fittings for the oil cooler side at the top have to be Banjo, there is just not enough room for anything else IMO These cost $25-$100 depending upon brand, quality and who you purchase them from.
-Fitting on the Oil cooler side bottom is alot easier, it can be a simple 90 degree fitting.
-Fittings on Oil Filter side have to be Banjo IMO. Get under there and look, I have been under my car three or four times in the last week looking at this sh*t and trying to figure out how to do it on the cheap. Others have used 18mm Metric adapters then added earls fittings to the adapters, but that creates more chances of leaks. You will need 2 18mmx1.5 Banjo fittings. I AM NOT POSITVE that they are 18mm, I have only read online and in several posts here on EvoM that they are 18mm.
-Hoses, of course, and depending on length, type and manufacturer, the cost can vary from $25 all the way up to $200, the same price spread as the fittings really.
That about covers it I think.

I was tired of waiting and no one responded so...
I actually put together a setup from Setrab USA...
If you want I can get you one for $475 shipped...quality parts better than what everyone else is offering at a lower price
(1) Setrab 25 row oil cooler
(2) Setrab push lock fittings (8AN)
5 foot hose "aeroquip" with 90 degree 8AN fittings attached on both ends-you can cut the hose in the middle to create 2 hoses, then attach the open ends to the pushlock fittings.
(2) fittings M18x1.5
...and a Setrab mount

That looks like a good setup, however, I dont know if I want the push on hose fittings, due to the high oil pressure these little 4G63's have. Another thing, were you able to mount it with more than two bolts at the top? I would prefer to at least have three points to mount it to. Theres alot of vibration while the car is running, and I'm thinking after awhile there may be problems with it vibrating loose and possibly cracking or damaging the oil cooler. I've seen it before on another guy's Evo locally. He had it mounted at only two points.

No problem... I understand
BUT do a search ... Aeroquip + Setrab pushlocks... can handle high PSI's
thats what it was designed for... its the new way!
BY the way 2 brackets = 3 or 4 mounting points
Your best bet is to buy the AMS kit then.

Oh what i meant was were you able to mount it at least three points with the setrab brackets? It looks like in the picture it's only mounted with bolts at the top. Were you able to use a third point on the right side of the cooler? I am still interested in the diy route dont get me wrong. I will just go my own way with the fittings.
I've been lurking around this thread for a while now, but didn't want to say anything until we were closer to releasing something. Well, that time has come

What dimensions does the cooler have?
Never mind, 25 rows= 7" wide I think. You guys might want to warn people that have the larger coolers built after august(?) 2005.
