got a 06 9 mr... w/ intake, dp, tp, ehxuast


i wanted to get some cams, the m3's or m2's....

can i just put those in and get it tuned? or do i need other supporting mods?

You could put them in and just get tuned. You will want some form of boost controller if you don't already have one to turn up the boost. w/o some form of boost control you won't really get any benefits if you leave it at the stock 18lbs. That's about the same route I went minus intercooler/fuel pump and I picked up 60hp/80ft lbs torque.

IMO Cams should not be the first thing anyone should do. Intake, LICP, TBE, MBC etc... then put in a nice set of cams. I however would not go with Cosworth Cams. I like the GSC S2s and Kelford 272 cams better. You should also have springs with those agressive cams. If you want to go the cheaper route than go HKS cams. For a IX I would recommend the HKS setup that I have, 272/280. That will help your topend out much more than having a 272/272 setup. I switch to 272/280 and gained 15+ hp from 6-8k over my 272/272 setup. HKS are great cams if you don't want to upgrade your valvetrain right now.
