ACT is not that much. A good upgrade is like 300-400 dollars.

I wouldn't say its rough. It's definitely not like the *****-foot stock engagement with the rubber hose and slave-restrictor, but its still plenty driveable with the SS hose, no restrictor, and 6-puck clutch. I'm having a lot more fun with my car now than I did before the clutch job, that's for sure.

I also like the Exedy, I have the single disc. The RMR is olay but I took some chunks out of it when I had it in my car.

That's not too bad, but I got my RMR for $150. Half as much and the pedal won't make my left leg bigger than my right. Not that heavy clutches really bother me that much. Hell, I have a 2600 lb in my Talon. But for a daily driver, I like the stock clutch pedal pressure.

How much does it cost for someone to do the clutch? I heard it's like 600, if it's that much why not put in a killer clutch if the labor is that much. Also 1300 for the top of the line is not that bad I have paid 2200 for a lesser unit before in a different car.

I'm definitely waiting for ACT, but I know when they come out people are going to buy them all up, and people will price gouge like crazy. I have 4500 miles on my clutch and it seems alright I hope it doesn't go until the hype is all over and I can get one for a reasonable price.

Hmmm...1300 for a clutch plus 600 for an install = $1900

$150 for a clutch plus $0 for do it yourself = $150

That leaves $1750. That much saved money could buy you a full turbo-back exhaust, an SAFC with the jumper/extender, an mbc, an intake, and a turbo-timer. I think I prefer my route.

$2200 for a clutch! I thought $1300 was bad enough!

I'm going with the Cusco twin-disk carbon-carbon. It's a little more expensive, but I'll never need another clutch. It's designed to let the first disk slip a little and then engage the second disk - drag launches will no longer be a problem...

How much does that cost and how much stiffer does it make the clutch pedal and engagement for daily driving?

Edit: My rps died at 7k! Chatter and no solutions from rps leaves me putting in a cusco carbon carbon on monday. This sucks...

Rich told me about your clutch. It sounds awesome, just so much damn $$$$$.

The Cusco is about $1700.

Don't forget with the RMR it's only the clutch disk and with the ACT it's the complete set up like Exedy and so forth. How do you like the 2600lb in your Talon for a daily driver. I am still not sure what I want. I need one bad my clutch has been slipping for 2 weeks already. I am sick of driving my Evo like a 5000lb car with 120 horse.

Yeah, but it would take quite a bit of modifying to max out the stock 2200 lb PP. The ACT 2100 lb is good to 300-350 whp on an AWD DSM.

The 2600 on my Talon isn't too bad, but then again, my Talon isn't exactly a daily driver any more. The Evo took over that duty. I can definitely feel the heavier clutch through the pedal on the Talon, but its not unbearable. I'd start to worry about too much pedal pressure on ACT's 2900 lb PP for the Evo though. Like I said, I like the stock pedal pressure on my daily driver Evo.

But then again, I'm not looking to make the Evo into a drag car like some people are. That's the Talon's job.

ACT has only 1 style of the clutch coming out as of the moment.
