okay so i have decided to go with the BBK, for the pure fact that I want a good street turbo with little lag. I know I have to do injectors, might as well do a fuel rail, and the s1 cams, my question is will I need to upgrade the exhaust manifold ? what about the intake manifold? I realize these may be newbie questions but everyone has to start some where any help is much appreciated.

Well im on same boat. After researching Ive come to the conclusion that ill be going T3.I figured a red setup would be about 2k.I figured one can piece together a nice used t3 kit for about same as a red.You will make more power with a T3 you wont have to kill your motor to do it.I ran a 35r in my dsm and it was a beast on the street.Ive driven red cars and they pull good but it sorta falls on its face up top.A 35r just pulls hard all they way through the power band.
you have got to be kidding me, do you not know much about all the "stock frame" turbos that are out there at the current moment and the power they are capable of making?
dont fool around with any of these backyard turbo places, and their funny names... lol stick with forced performance they make the best turbos on the market by far. Look over all the dyno sheets that alot of guys have posted up in the dyno tuning and results section and that will help you understand a little more of what you will need to help reach your goals.

didi you even read the op's post or did you just jump into this thread to nut swing on fp's *****. the examples you listed just further exactly what i said with his current mods and future mod path. he will not accomplish his goal on a stock framed turbo. not one of the the links you listed is at 450 whp on pump gas like the op stated he was looking for. the only one that breaks 450 is on e85 and the op specificly said he wasnt going to use it at all.
as far as staying away from other vendors turbos, thats pretty bad advice since cbrd has had only two turbos fail out of 200, while fp has had 3 reds fail on the same person and that doesnt even count the dozens other that have failed on other people.
the bbk full will spool faster and have a broader power curve on a pump gas car then any turbo fp makes. that my friend is what makes a street car fun to drive.
so my sugeestion to you is to wipe the jiz off your face and out of your eyes so you can actually read what people are saying instead of just jumping in threads giving horible advice to people

the bbk with s2 cams will do nothing close to even resembling fallling on its face. if you have the extra money do the ported i/m, t/b, and e/m so you can do the whole install at one time it makes things a lot easier since the head is coming off if you do the s2's with springs. if not taking th i/m off by itself is not a fun job and is probably not worth the gains to $ ratio when just doing it alone.
somebody please tell me where this graph even starts to fall off because to me it looks like it is still climbing at redline!

i've got the HTA3586 with a handfull of other mods BUT its not installed yet so cant help you with it yet, but i heard its not too laggy so it might be an option for you...just throwing it out there
