Well he said stock bottom end, stock ECU. My buddy Adam has a Buschur thread on here with his newly built bottom end. The car is a beast on pump with an HTA35R and again, a built bottom end. Until he did that he waas only at 26psi and not making any more than a Red. 440whp on a Dynojet I believe. So yes I agree the HTA35R will outperform a stock frame turbo (you can only machine so much out of those things) but it will take a LOT of supporting mods and money to make it happen properly IMO.

I like the Red big time! When I had a suby, I had the red and wondered if they would ever make one for an evo...And they did! Way more power than on my suby. It does seem most people make around 420-440 on pump tho...Im not sure that will be enough. I think the most I've seen on pump was 446??

My buddy only made 440whp DJ on 93 with his HTA35R and tubular mani at 26psi. Then he did the BR stage 3 head, drop ins, and BR 272s. Now the thing is a monster on pump....but at 32psi. You said on page 1 you dont want to run high boost. You wont make big power on a big turbo without going higher on boost. Flow is only part of the equation. I only bring this up because without the right supporting mods, you may be dissapointed in the bang for the buck. That said, you build it right and it will be sick on pump!

Eventually I'd love to have a bushur biult car...thier pump gas cars are insane! Its seems like most people that have 500+ have a somewhat similar setup...Seems like it works. Not sure about your friend, but hey its a monster now.

Now thats what I like to see! I was thinking fp5r cams w/ springs & retainers, so I guess we would have similar results...How much boost was that?

This is a very simple choice. First off, 500 whp on pump gas is a tough number to hit. We were the first to do it and we've duplicated it on I don't know how many cars at this point. Forget the dyno numbers though, look at the track results. Last year when we were making big pump gas power another shop got involved in some crap talking, challenges were made and then it got quiet. Well I of course didn't forget. I believe their pump gas car that was also tuned on a Mustang Dyno made more power than my car. I'm not sure if it even went 10's but my car ran 9.7's. Then we had a BUNCH of customer run 10.50's. So the point is, 500 whp is a lot and there are many claims and such out there about power levels. A full weight EVO on our dyno hitting 500 whp will run 130+mph trap speeds with ease.

So, now you have requested 500 whp. On a Dynojet or a jacked up Mustang Dyno or Dyno Dynamics that's jacked up or a Dyna Pak, that number isn't as hard to hit and could be done possibly on a green.

To make 500 whp on our dyno though it will take a Red and a very serious build, even then it would be tough. My own car with a full build, stock ECU and E85 made 510 whp/498 ft lbs, the car also ran 10.3 at 138 mph.

The best bet is a T3, tubular "35r" kit. I'd say the HTA86 kit we offer but that is a lot of turbo for a stock engine/stock head/small cams and stock ECU. You need a TON of expensive mods to make that turbo work the way it should. So, I say that is not the turbo for your build.

My choice, go with the FP red and Stages 1-4. It won't make 500 whp, not on our dyno, but it would make 400'ish and run close to or maybe even 10's at that power level. 420 whp is typically an 11.0 car on our dyno at about 128 mph, that's at full weight.

Hope this helps. Don't ruin your car with a big turbo and the incorrect supporting mods. For that matter, don't even consider any turbo until the rest of the car is ready for it or it's going to suck anyway.
