I want one but they are $1,800 or $1060 with a nice core, I have to find a core now, I can't rip my IX turbo off and let it sit....

Yes, thatnks for that elaborate advice...I always thought the track came down to the driver, considering...I shave a 1/2 sec in the 8th in my friends sti. But i def dont want a dyno queen that is slow. I always thought about 10s on pump. If the red could do that on a good day, I'd be satisfied for sure...Will porting need to be involved?

the new HKS GT3240 complete turbo kit is your best bet
the HKS CZ200S had 500hp with it and the spool arrive fast by 500rpm
furthermore, you wont lost any top end

skyblas, please..............The Red has proven itself capable of mid 9 second passes on numerous cars, the turbo cost $1700. It's made in excess of 600 whp on a Dynojets. To even mention an over priced HKS turbo kit in the same sentence is funny.

gfng, sorry to hear you didn't get the right advise to start off with, should have asked me!!

1000, yes, while you are doing the Red port it, port the FACTORY exhaust manifold and put a SS 02 housing on it like we sell. For the sales pitch, we offer all that stuff ported and ceramic coated. I'd do it all if I were you.

David -- I bought your OEM ported O2, because I thought it was better than the Megan / etc. pieces....Is that what you are still recommending (factory O2 ported)? BTW - still trying to figure out who should install my BR motor ...Also, Dave what is the Red like around town / on the street - transient response, power band, etc. ? (I know the Red can be an awesome drag turbo, but what would it be like on a road course?)

Thanks!

RED, Green, BBK if you are running a stock block. I know Mellon ran an HTA35R on the stock block for a bit, however he built his engine soon thereafter.

I don't know, I like the idea of a RED for a street turbo however I have heard from others that it cannot match the feeling of a 35R and the power it puts down on pump. Some guys like me don't care about the idea of lag around town, hell it'll save you gas money where I'm assuming the red will always want to go because of the quick spoolup.

I like the idea of going with a T3 setup because if you ever want to go bigger you can interchange turbos where with a RED you would need to compile a whole new setup to go bigger.

Correct me if I am wrong.

Million dollar question for me as well. i keep hearing about the transient response on the Blue and how good it is. I can deal with a little bit of a sacrifice on transient response for a turbo that can give good numbers.

I have modest goals on this car. I don't want to rebuild (unless I kill the motor). So I'd be good with 450 pump 500 E85. I know the Red will do that easy enough but if the sacrifice is lag/response{transient} then I would go another direction.
