Fp red headstuds, and abuse or no headstuds !

OKAY SO I AM GETTING READY TO DO AN FP RED ON MY 06 EVO 9, HOWEVER I FEEL AS THOUGH HEAD STUDS ARE NOT NECESSARY, I KNOW A NUMBER OF PEOPLE THAT ARE MAKING BOG POWER ON 35R KITS WITH FACTORY HEAD STUDS. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW PEOPLES OPTION. I DONT REALLY WANT TO HAVE TO DO HEAD STUDS DONE ON MY CAR DUE TO THE ONLY PROPER WAY TO DO THEM IS TO take the head off, send it to the machine shop for a skim and put a new gasket on. And you have to use honda bond around the oil holes on the gasket for a good seal. SO I DONT REALLY WANT TO DO THIS, I THINK THAT THE STOCK HEAD STUDS CAN HANDLE THE 26 PSI THAT I WILL BE RUNNING, LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU GUYS THINK.

PEOPLE HAVE ALSO TOLD ME THAT THE STOCK INTERNALS WILL BE ABUSED AND THAT THE FP RED IS NOT GOOD FOR A STOCK MOTOR, WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK ?

I JUST WANT TO BOLT THIS TURBO ON, WITH UPGRADED INJECTORS, AND FUEL PUMP AND BE ON MY WAY WITHOUT ANY ISSUES, AND WITHOUT ANY ENGINE ABUSE WHAT DO YO GUYS THINK ?

My head lifted @426 WTQ (dynojet) on stock studs and stock turbo. I would do do them. If you plan on keeping your WTQ below that, don't do them.

Stock internals can handle ALOT of WHP! more than what a FP Red can give you. It's the WTQ that's breaks sh*t. And/or a bad tune.

You don't have to send it to a machine shop to do studs. My head lifted, I put them in And no issues. FYI I have a FP RED now.

Stick with the stockers and keep the tune safe, you'll be fine. I have a friend running 30+psi on E85 making 430whp on a dyno dynamics (~500whp dynojet) with no problems. He drags the car and gives it hell, he's been good so far. Keep the 'factory fresh seal' as long as you can

Dude, its not the PSI it's the WTQ. trust me . Ima victim, and I know of MANY others. Not all Evo are the same either. I was in the same boat as you. I said fu*k it. then My head lifted 6 months later. Some sooner, some later. If you're running a Red with out E85 or meth you should be gravy anyway.

You will be fine.

26psi is nothing for that turbo.

I've never had any problems with 438 wtq for over 18k miles.

Stock headstuds will be fine especially 26 psi on the evo red you wont see a lot of cylinder pressure from that.

do the head studs, do not take your chances of not changing them. More power more presure, more strain to the studs. Save yourself head aches, do the head studs

So you arp fasten everything.... head, rod caps, wheelstuds, wife. Yet ign advance is whatever, thinking knock sensor will detect it and retard timing. But too bad the sensor is specifically tuned for stock parts and becomes useless as the car is modded. So combustion goes out of hand as it always does. The head is securely fastened to the other half of block and the seal is fine, but they are located near exit 122, 500 meters back.
