We have had the 4.0" fit with no trimming on our car, but the bumper beam does touch the intercooler. If you have any questions, you can pm or call me! We are more then happy to help out.

Thanks,

Michael

The big issue with ANY fmic is HEAT SOAK, and a thiner one will be FAR worse! 3" is good for "light mods", but IMO anything more NEEDS a bigger fmic. Your also limited on boost with a 3". Try searching the forums some, you may be suprised to see what you find. There are plenty of threads comparing stock (2.75") to 3", and 3" to 3.5-4".

That car have basic 3" IC and engine with stock internals. (except cams & valve springs and light cylinder head porting). I would say there is 600+ whp.

I agree that bigger is better but for me bigger ic means larger area, not thicknes. I tend to disagree about heat soak with thinner IC. If I drive in the city and and IC heat soak to 60-70C in a hot day, just drive to freeway and MAT drops to somewhere Ambient+10C within 10s acceleration. With thick IC there is so much MASS that need to bee cooled it will take much longer. If you have a 4" IC, it must have a very large frontal area that it will cool down.

I have the 4" on my IX and it fits perfect..the only piece I had to cut was the little plastic piece by the headlights for the 2 side brackets on the end tanks of the intercooler to slide up in...but very little was cut...

Well my ets 4" is now on the car the bumper fits very snug and really could use some trimming of the bumper cover to fit better (pass side where the grill meets the cover) if I could do it again I would have got the ets 3.8" Garrett core. But live and learn the price was great on the ets. I really want to see a comparison of the 3.8" and 4" on a larger turbo like the red or 35r. However on the stock turbo we did pick up ~20whp with the upgraded ic and pipes.
