i plan on doing a turbo first rather than cams. i plan on doing a 2.3l eventually so i can do the cams then if not i can do the cams when the timing belt has to be replaced if that happens prior to the 2.3l build. i have been looking at the BBK full as well.

i dont think anyone that ever bought cams woke up the next day and said " wow, that was a mistake" but to really get your $$ worth grab some springs and retainers if you go that route

I wanna go the turbo only route too. I don't wanna open up my engine, cuz i wanna keep the car as stock as possible but wanted a bigger turbo. So this kinnda answers my questions to what the fp red will do on a stock setup. I kinda want faster spool as well so was thinking a green. I just want to see if its possible to make 400hp with all stock engine internals and have it run reliably.

Red before cams if you have enough for the Red. It all depends on your budget and how long you wait between upgrades. Most people will do cams before a turbo, but with the power you have now you are reasonably within 30whp of most straight pumpgas limits. A Red on the other hand is cost per horsepower definitely the better way to go.

I never knew you could run a big turbo on these cars without doing all of what I refer to as the "supporting mods" it seems like it would be too big of a step but I guess not, anyone wanna fill me in on the details?

I made around 430 whp on a hearbreaker dyno (d.d) with a 1.0 correction factor which equals to a little over 500whp dyno jet number stock cams, stock block,on meth 30psi...the red is a nasty little stock framed turbo also sounds like a jet coming.

Well from most of the threads I have seen re: the FP Red it appears to hit peak Tq ~500 - 1000RPM after a stock 9 turbo. That said, the numbers will be bigger at peak and will hold better throughout the rest of the RPM range.
