blown clutch, or ... ?
blown clutch, or ... ?
i'm not at all a technician so any help here would really be appreciated. i did a lot of reading and when clutches go, they smell pretty awful and i'm almost certain that's what i was smelling, but then i maybe drove it 5 miles and didn't notice anything, then 5 hours later drove another 5 miles and i could tell it was slipping, then on the way home i could barely get it to catch and was doing 25 the whole way. i thought clutches took a decent amount of time/slipping and didn't do it all in a few hours. i was told maybe it has something to do with the awd drivetrain and one of my axels aren't working right and it's re directing? just wondering what you guys think. thanks
If you launch it hard once, you can smell it burning, this could finish it off if there's not much left in it. Usually though, you'll be able to tell first (slipping). It will gradually finish off, but sounds like yours is pretty much gone.
