Controlling boost with ECU vs. MBC

I couldn't find a thread on this specific topic. If there is one I should be looking at please direct me.

I am wondering what the benefits are to each method. It seems like there are fast cars using both methods. Is one better than the other?

ECU controlled boost is better but needs more time to tune.
MBC is only faster to set.

What does "is faster to set" mean? I am looking for a little insight on the subject.

My last Evo did not have a boost controller and the tuner used the stock ecu to control the boost. It seemed to work really well. I have another evo and will be getting tuned soon. I am trying to decide if I should go with the stock system, a mbc, or the grimmspeed unit.

Trying to get different opinions. They work with either method.
