30 PSI - Synapse - Recirc.

Sounds like a thunder crack when off throttle at that PSI. Holds perfectly fine.

I don't wanna go VTA cause the sound is just too much for me, and generally has worse driveability then Recirc.

Can users with a Recirc running 28+ give me some feedback on the sound/driveability/boost-holding of thier BOV and what type it is. Thanks

Rock solid!

C port to the turbo outlet pipe + A port to the intake mani + B port blocked.
What does blocking port B help with? I am running the same as you accept with A+B on the same vac line off the intake mani.

With my setup (see sig) I would get part throttle flutter at low load in 3rd and up with the B port open. While I was testing my install I kept trying different configurations to see if I could find a "magic bullet" to halt my part throttle surge. One time, I simply pulled the line off of port B, plugged it, and reinstalled the line. The result was much less throttle surge --- not eliminated, just much less. I'm still toying around with the setup and will try to perfect it.

Thanks for asking!

So you are basically just running port "A" and "C" then? Had any success with adjusting the preload adjustment?

My application is with a FP "green" on E-85. I have been experimenting with solutions to get rid of part throttle flutter. I found for me that using port "B"
with a vacuum restrictor I bought and port "A" open works best so far. I do use port "C" for boost signal and have the preload screw all the way in almost.

I think a turbo with more lag...(ie red.....GT35....) might require a different set up.

Don't know if someone said this already, but if you get a Forge RS make sure you do some trial and error in adjusting the spring rate. I run it and love the fact that you can turn a dial to adjust the spring rate with a big, easy to use knob instead of actually switching springs which have dedicated rates 8/11...I have my RS set perfectly so I get no flutter, and it doesn't hiccup at low boost. I also switch it around every once and awhile to change the sound it makes (can be run either way).

Just a note regarding the Synapse BOV. I had mine originally mounted in the typical vertical Evo fashion. Had part throttle flutter issues with it using ALL hose port and preload spring adjustment settings. This weekend I reloacated it so that it is mounted in a more horizontal config and flutter has all but disappeared. Since it is a cylinder design I suspect when mounted vertically gravity was effecting the shuttling of the cylinder during use. Horizontal mount is as designed. Holds boost like crazy.

I bought a Synapse valve yesterday to replace the forge that came with the car. Every way I tried installing it make the car run terrible and I got awful flutter. So I bit the bullet and re-installed the Forge and it idled as it should and drove a lot better. But the forge just doesn't hold the boost like the synapse did.

Maybe it's because I couldn't figure out the right way to install it with my Hallman manual boost controller. I keep searching around here hoping to find the magic answer but we'll see.
