If you didn't install it, then you don't know exactly WTF is going on, so you make such a statement that you hope ACT goes out of business. Who is the moron? You don't know what is causing the lockout, nor did you install the clutch, so you immediatly want to blame the part, because a bunch of other idiots have blamed it before. People say it's so easy to install clutches, then why do people have so much trouble on these forums? I can't count how many idiots who were trying to install their clutch and couldn't even get the god damn transfer case off.

First off, people say "Exedy this" and "Exedy that", and while I can't say this for their entire line of Mitsubishi clutches, but Exedy for a while had been producing their single disk stuff. So saying "ACT sucks *****" is, in many cases, saying the same thing as "Exedy sucks".

Also, comparing people's experiances with a twin disk versus a single disk is like comparing apples to oranges. We all know the benefits of running a twin disk, but just saying "get a twin disk" is an expensive solution to a problem that can probably be solved with their existing clutch setup.

For the record, I've bought many ACT clutches over the years, albeit for other Mitsubishi applications, and have never had an issue. And me having a DSM has nothing to do with the topic at hand. I've probably had my hands on Evos more that you have, and you own one.

I experienced high rpm lockout in all gears with my Exedy Single disc clutch. I tried all the tricks. Bleeding, adjusting......blah ..bah...blah. So I sought out some expert opinions and this is what I got," Evo's don't like high pressure single discs at high rpm". So, I put an Exedy twin SD and ZERO lock-out or any issues since. I know twin-discs are expensive and I'm not saying that this is going to fix your issue. It did fix mine though.

nope, you'll still get it. Its a high rpm thing. shifting at 7k is easy, going 7800 and beyond is trouble.

Why do u need to get all these parts to put this company's product on ur car? Or d) bought the wrong combo for their evo, even though the combo they have is for a evo. I hear, well u have the low rpm setup. U need this, this and this combo of act parts. Wtf! This is a high revving car! Why would act make a clutch that cant rev for a high rev car? Its an excuse! Plain and simple. I have never heard of anyone having lockout issues with exedy twin or any twin at that. And with them clutches u can install it a bit wrong by putting the discs in the wrong way. Hmm............ From what i hear from well know evo shops is that the setup is too heavy in a single disc and puts alot of stress on the syncros and wears them out. Beat up syncros sounds like shifting problems to me.

your ok in my book man...

i've used the solid front motor mounts with success to eliminate the lockout. FYI i have the ACT HDSS with stock flywheel, shift at 8400 and don't have lockout. i have the street disk sprung.

every customer who gets the ACT and has shifting issues we put a motor mount in and usually it goes away. now 5th gear grind, thats a synco issue

Now that ur hand is off the President of ACT's FAT D*** grab ur mouse, click and take a look at the number of people on THIS FORUM ALONE that have had problems with ACT. Now take a look at the number of people on this forum that have had problems with exedy! Now how is it possible that all the IDIOTS as u call them happen to all of bought a ACT product. So is what ur saying is all the dumb people bought a ACT and all the smart bought a EXEDY right? And in the next breath u said u have bought a ton of ACT products RIGHT???? So u in fact by ur own admission ARE AN IDIOT! Now that u pointed that out, How many clutches have u installed on evo's??? Not many im sure! and if u did it wasnt a ACT clutch cause u said that too! So WTF are u here talking about!!!!! And why are u here telling people with evos what product to buy and how to install it WHEN U DONT EVEN OWN ONE!!!! And SAYING ACT SUCKS IS LIKE SAYING ACT SUCKS!! NOTHING ELSE!!! I KNOW THIS CAUSE I JUST TYPED IT!!! SO U CANT READ EITHER WHICH IM NOT SURPRISED CAUSE U URSELF CALLED U AN IDIOT!!! Feel free to reread the above to confirm that ACT SUCKS, MEANS ACT SUCKS! Now u say u know the benefits of a twin clutch vs a single clutch and its like apples and oranges. So tell me the differences IDIOT!! AND to think u have had ur hands on more evos than mine is funny. Now if u mean D*** then ur right. I have only had my hand one, mine!! But if u wanna put ur hand on it.......... DONT EVER CALL ANYONE ON THIS FORUM AN IDIOT AGAIN!!

I have an ACT clutch and flywheel I had installed about 12k miles ago with ZERO issues! No lockout or anything it shifts perfect in every gear, shifting @ 7.5k RPM is not a problem. It seems odd to me that so many have problems with ACT because mine has been flawless.
Sucks that so many people have issues with these clutches......
