HELP!! Whining noise at 50-65 MPH in 5th

Well the other day i noticed that my car was making a whining noise in 5th gar between 50-65 mph in 5th gear only... under 50 it doesn't make the noise and over 65 is doesn't. I was wondering if anyone had a solution or what it could be or if their car does it also. I also have a act 6 puck sprung clutch in her which has been in the car for 20,000 or so miles..... please help.... i hope its not the Tcase... cant afford to change it!

I have something similar that is most heard around that mark. I can hear it in 4th as well at that speed but its most pronounced when in 5th. It can only be heard when keeping speed or decel in gear. If I accelerate it is not present or when I pop it in neutral it cant be heard or so slight its not noticeable.

The type of sound it makes is a pulsating. Does yours also pulsate?

I think it still does it in neutral. But I don't know if it does it in 4th because my exhuast. But it does it when I accelerate not when I decelerate only when on the gas and I'm not sure what you mean by pulsate.

+90% it is the Tcase IMO. Try to Jack up the car on 4 stands, and run the car on neutral around 3000 rpm; the sound should not show up. Then put it in gear and take it thru all the gears around the rpm / mph you notice the noise; it should show up then. It should not be as loud as there is very little load but you should listen coming from the Tcase.
I would also change the fluid to inspect the Tcase oil and check for metal shavings. My choice would be Amsoil Severe Gear oil 75W-90 GL-5.

Good luck and let us know how it goes.
