shifter is very stiff in neutral

I have the exact same problem, just wondering what it was? I disconnected linkage and it was flopping around no problem so i have internal issue just wondering what yours ended up being?

I could be shifter cable to. Or on the attachment points at the linkage on the trans, or to the shifter. Check everything..

I took the cable off the attachment linkage at the trans and went inside the car and it felt like it was supposed to. So that makes me think it is at the tranny or inside the tranny that the problem is.
