hey i noticed that the greddy type s comes with just the bov cost like $179 and another one with the intercooler piping which cost another $100 more. anyhow what is the difference in performance between one with piping n without?

which one is better among hks bov, blitz dd and greddy type s?

why do you need the whole pipe for the Type S , you shouldnt, it will recirc or VTA...using stock hoses.

I already own an HKS SSQV with a recirculation fitting (from my now defunct custom turbo'd Benz) . A few days ago I ordered the bolt on adapter kit for $39 + $7 shipping from lancershop. If I put it on I plan to recirculate the air for obvious reasons.

However, after reading this & other threads it sounds like I might not want to do this install????? The SSQV seemed to work fine in the Benz, and I was only running at a max of 10psi. HKS runs it on their cars, often with lower than stock boost levels along with a more efficient turbo (still producing more power with lower boost).

Could those of you who are actually running an HKS SSQV please give me some input/opinions? Are you recirculating your air? I also would really appreciate seeing pictures of your setup if you have them.

TIA,
Jason

On my Benz, I just found some tubing that was the same diameter as the recirculation fitting and ran it in just before the turbo. I ended up using some heater hosing... I think. Anyway, it worked great.

Are you running the adapter for the HKS that lancershop sells? Do you have bogging problems that others have reported running VTA?
Have any pics?

Jason

i think that the Greddy S-type would be the best for our EVO 8s.. are cars are meant to have recirc systerm, and by taking the smaller spring out and adjusting the spring tension, it wont bog or stall on you....like the VTA....

FWIW, Boost-Solutions uses HKS SSQV on their MONSTER EVO 8, and all their other cars for that matter

BTW, he's boosting like 42 psi

Or, you could just buy the AEM EMS and kick your MAS to the curb, opting for a speed density setup. The you could run a VTA with no problems!

IMO..... I would say if you really want to go VTA and have the least problems, get the valve that has the least problems setup recirc. I have heard people complaining that the HKS SSQV sucks on the EVO even going back to the intake. So if the Greddy has less problems Recirc. you will most likely have less problems with the Greddy going VTA.

Yes Boost Solutions is using the HKS but they also are running the AEM comp so they can compensate for the A/f raios. If you have no way to tune the A/f ratios I would stay with the RC BOV.

I accidently clicked on hks instead of greddy. I have the type-s on mine and i love it no idle probs and you can make it have the whislte sound or the woosh sound.. The whistle sounds just like the hks.

I to wanted to know this. I dont know if I wanna VTA or recirculate back to the intake, I just know I wanna do whatever is gonna cause no problems. I'm really leaning toward the HKS BOV, because I wanna run just HKS products on my Evo. If I get the HKS BOV I would need the recirculation kit right? And if i get the recirculation kit will it still cause any problems?

Yes anyone!

But I found that by adjusting the screw on the back of the SSQV, your car might not stall anymore, Mine works completely fine.... For those who are stalling try loosening the screw....
