Mechanical issues diagnosis

I have a 06 Evo IX that was running great. It is tuned and has walbro, turboback, MBC, and cone filter running 23 PSI.

It was responding wonderful until about a week back when something changed. I would hear the turbo sucking in the air (little louder than normal) and the RPM's would go up but the car doest respond. It's as if you are reving it with the clutch in. It isnt until about 5-6k that it really picks up and kicks back in..

Any ideas?

The tune is the same and the boost got turned down to 20 PSI since then to be safer. I noticed that if I hit WOT it'll go to like 5 or 6k then jump back down to about 4k where as before It was a consistent rev all the way up until I switched gears or let off...

yup sounds like clutch and you may have a boost leak if you are hearing your turbo more. you'll have to pull most of your upper piping to change the clutch so just check for couplers as you go.

I have seen some dealers replace a clutch under warr. if it has low miles. However they will not replace it with an aftermarket one. The will only replace with another stock clutch.

Do you know how much torque/HP the stock can hold? I rarely launched it and never tracked it... trying to figure it out

Seems ironic that the clutch went out right after the dealership drove it! haha bummer
