Drop the subframe. Makes the transmission and transfer case install a snap.

Make sure the washer is under the reverse sensor, otherwise the car won't go into gear in reverse and 5th.

I beleive the oem washer is between 48 and 50 thousands thick.

good luck its a pain in the *** everytime i do one, if your doing it on jackstands jack both the front and back of the car to as high as you can that way the engine wont swing back when you pull the tcase out, also make sure you have someone help you, if you take the subframe down its alot easier but you will need an air gun to loosen those bolts, get yourself something to pull out the input shaft, also if the throw out bearing doesnt come out easy, you can unbolt the whole pressure plate by sticking a ratchet thru the whole where the fork goes in and spining the crank in many cases GOOD LUCK get some beer to it might turn out to be longer than you think

Don't drop the subframe. Get some friends to help and use a transmission jack. 3 of us got our friends' tranny in (from sitting on the ground to on the car) in ~15mins without dropping the subframe.

Yea don't drop the subframe. A lot of work you don't need to do.
