Our race built and OEM rebuilt engines typically are 180 across the board.

Most 9's I see are 140 across the board. Including low mileage stock cars.

It's not just "180" for all like somebody previously stated.

Also consistancy between cylinders is the big thing to look for.

FYI if you guys are having problems with boost leak tests with the synapse you need to take the vaccum lines off the BOV so it closes, as at idle the BOV is open...

its still that. we just doing further testing. Now that the comp test came back possitive we will continue to do a leak down test. If that comes out good we will then continue with the boost leak test.

Maybe I've gotten lucky the 100+ times I shut off my car prior to doing a boost leak test. Again I have never had to put the car at TDC or turn the crank ever at all for that matter. Since 05 I've don 100+ of boost leak test on my car and my ex's RS

See, that's what I don't get. I had air coming straight out my exhaust like I mentioned previously. We tried cranking the engine over a couple times and every time we boost leak tested, we had the same issue with the pressure coming out the exhaust.

And you are right, there's absolutely no way of getting lucky 100+ times in doing it, so there has to be some sort of issue with the OP's and my cars....

There's got to be an explanation for this...

Pretty much standard practice on my evo at every oil change. Maf cleaning and a boost leak test. I know Dan's boost leak tested his car more times then he can count. Especially with all the changes hes done to his set up over the years and as he mentioned he never had to put the car to TDC or adjust the crank
