Can a vibrating crossthreaded EGT probe be causing knock?
Hello All,
I have an Defi EGT installed in my exhaust mani and it is cross threaded at the moment so I think I have to tap new threads and reinstall. But I am curious if the EGT probe vibrating could cause the car to pick up knock?
It does vibrate audibly at around 3K rpms under load. I can't replicate the sound in neutral for some reason. Kind of a metallic grinding noise. Anyway I am curious if anyone thinks this could be the source of my knocking issues.
Thanks in advance.

I got nothing to plug it with unfortunately. What I am going to do is since the defi sensor has a threaded sleeve, I am going to get the sleeve welded to the exhaust mani to seal it. Then I can still remove the sensor from the sleeve if i need to. ughhh so many issues lately.
