waste gate getting weak?

waste gate getting weak?

So last wednesday i went to the track and i could not peak over 25 psi falling to 20, i kept trying to turn the boost up with the halman but ended up completely turning the mbc till it was closed n still nothing past 25 peak

Probably a boost leak. Stock turbo? What BOV?

Had you on previous occasions been able to boost higher than 25#, or was this the first time with the existing setup?

its a stock viii turbo, just put a new one on with a 10.5 hotside the old 9.8 actually would boost higher and hold boost i would peak at about 30 and fall to 25

the viii drifter valves suck!! get a ix drifter valve there metal and they hold boost so much better

where is the drifter valve located, could you give me a quick understanding of what this piece does?

LOL! I think he means divertor valve aka blow off valve

Sounds like you have a boost leak or your 'new' turbo is shot as well.

ok that is what i thought was bov but i wasnt sure at some point if there was another valve hmmm idk possibly a boost leak i just dont know where it would be

Happened to me once. Took apart my Hallman and there was debris in there. Nt exactly sure how it happened but cleaned it out and was good to go. Mine wouldnt boost past 19psi
