Hey guys. I have an Evo VIII MR turbo in my Evo VIII GSR.

If I got an Evo IX turbo, would I see power gains. I did a search on the specifics of the VIII MR turbo, but I couldn't find much. Does the VIII MR turbo come with the 10.5 hotside?

All 2005 Evo VIIIs came with the 10.5 hot side, so your VIII MR turbo has one as well. The Evo IX turbo will give you additional gains because of the bigger compressor wheel and cover as well.

Basically:
03/04: Evo VIII turbo with 9.8 hotside
05: Evo VIII turbo with 10.5 hotside
06: Evo IX turbo (10.5 hotside, bigger compressor side)

 

That pretty much sums it up...

 

Hey there fellow evo owner..

I have the same setup as you do: EVO VIII GSR w/ the MR upgrade and to answer your question the EVO IV turbo has the 10.5 TH but the compressor housing is a bit larger making it move flow a bit more.

I have the specs somewhere if you really want me to dig it up for you just let me know.
