Question My IX struggles to start??

I've noticed since last week my IX is taking longer and longer to start up. This morning it wasn't starting up! I tried again and after 10 sec it fired up. Is that a sign of a dying batt. or do I need spark plugs? Maybe some other problem? It cranks up really slowly then finally starts after 5-10 sec. Battery is a year and a half old and I noticed some crust around it if that matters????

Clean the battery posts and battery cables. You say you have "crust" on there. I assume that is corrosion and you are not getting a solid connection between the battery posts and your cables.

I had this same problem where I could barely get the car to start. Sometimes it would turn over and then finally one night I got trapped in my work parking lot because it wouldn't start. Replaced the battery and all was good after that.
