My IX struggles to start??
I've noticed since last week my IX is taking longer and longer to start up. This morning it wasn't starting up! I tried again and after 10 sec it fired up. Is that a sign of a dying batt. or do I need spark plugs? Maybe some other problem? It cranks up really slowly then finally starts after 5-10 sec. Battery is a year and a half old and I noticed some crust around it if that matters????
Clean the battery posts and battery cables. You say you have "crust" on there. I assume that is corrosion and you are not getting a solid connection between the battery posts and your cables.
I had this same problem where I could barely get the car to start. Sometimes it would turn over and then finally one night I got trapped in my work parking lot because it wouldn't start. Replaced the battery and all was good after that.
Took an early lunch break to test the battery. Results were 183CCA ??? Guy at the shop said thats really low and the batt. is dead. I had a new one installed and now she fires up in an instant
Glad it wasn't anything else. Thanks for the quick replys guys!
