Can't wait to see what wheel/housing combos are released and the maps to go with them.

Geoff, with some of these new BW turbos having internal WG and an integrated DV, will Full-Race be releasing new exhaust headers to go with these? If so, do you either already have, or are you planning to test external WG/DV vs. integrated WG/DV setups?

This may be dumb to ask, but why did they decide to run internal gates? I always have such a hard time wrapping my head around internal gates because of the idea of weird turbulence added to exhaust flow. Is there any way of disabling the internal gate and going external? Can't wait til Nov. 1st. I feel like these comp maps are going to be sick!

Sierra Sierra is the only evo running this turbo so far, their dynochart will be posted online nov 1st i believe. The spool will obviously depend on many factors such as which size EFR turbo, singlescroll or twinscroll and the motor build. are you talking about the big EFR 9180 on a 2L?

For evo's we recommend external WG! that is the setup sierra sierra is running, twinscroll EFR w/ dual external wastegates. The comp maps are impressive!

Existing Full-Race twinscroll manifolds will work with the EFR twinscroll external gate turbochargers. The internal EFR gate header may come in the future, but after seeing sierra sierra's results we are very satisfied and dont want to change the recipe.

sorry but that is not going to happen with these, no possible way.

I did see that the t4 is an EWGA, but I'm staying t3 unless I can somehow manage to get a free mani or over value on the one I have. I guess I was thinking t3, disabled IWGA and stick with the 44 vband that is currently on the mani sort of thing.

Maybe most of these details are somewhere else through here, but I was reading... (what seemed to be new to this discussion from 10/22)

Geoff, are you sure that's what they have in there?
That is a double row bearing but it is a self-aligning bearing. Spherical outer race. They usually don't take much of a thrust load.

With all the hubbub about thrust bearing failures in turbos these days, I figured they would use something that is good with thrust, like this:

or like this:
