seems like you really like short cuts. Not something to do when playing engine games.

Take the extra 20min to remove the belt and $60 for new T belt and do it right.

make sure not to loose the keepers. I'm nervous every time.

agreed...I think the time your trying to save, will be made up by trying to devise a device your not sure would even work and then you will have twice the time into it if it doesn't.
Do it right and do it once.

Have used this tool personally on a couple cars when I worked at Lascuola Motorworks, this tool is a big time saver and makes everything very straight forward.

That tool is great, ask anyone who has used it. Big time saver and works as advertised.
I can't even tell you how much more they could sell it for if they set it up at SEMA and let you try it yourself.I give that product 2 thumbs up.

This is what was stated on website... I think you are ok. It also says to make sure and tell them if you are working on an evo.

"You also can use this tool with the head still on the block. (but make sure that valves do not drop). "

re-viving old post, this is a GREAT idea, but for 75 bucks I can make one out of a hacked up socked and tap set.

Could you install valve spring and retainers without changing cams?
