Stock Motor FP Red Thread
. I did like the 25psi gate because I was holding 30.5psi at 8k on a 30psi target boost, the only problem is I was overboosting to 35psi for a few hundred rpms and I wanted to keep things smooth, so it came off. Thanks for sharing your experience, dude! I can relate to your info. In a way this is related to your post in another thread where we crossed words about the turbine wheel on the Red and the Black turbos.
When the flapper valve lifts off it's seat early even when heavily preloaded indicates too high of a turbine inlet pressure. For the Red FP went and stuffed a relatively large turbine wheel into a housing that was designed for a much smaller diameter wheel.

I agree with you and that also creates higher EGTs because of back pressure and other things related to the smaller housing. I just like how they kept the same turbine wheel for the Black
I have not seen a black in person yet but I bet Robert ports the flapper mouth to help relieve the higher turbine presure created by the Black's larger compressor wheel. That way it helps eliminate a turbo that sounds like it may be prone to boost creep. Just think about all that extra exhaust gases that have to make it through the stock flapper mouth now that there is a 81mm compressor wheel...

I will do a write up of it since the power is nearly identical to an E85 stockblock car we did (497/398 for Glenn), but Ca$h made 495/402 tonight at 29psi with a Magnus, moderate timing, 2 1.0mm aquamist jets on 100% meth, and SD. Its a tune I definitely feel you could safely roadrace on if you had a big enough meth tank.
The cool thing is that Ca$h had ZERO losses and only gains below 5k.

I think my torque rating might be seeing a jump here as well. Its looking more and more like 425 Ft lbs (from my exhaustive study of dyno sheets and firsthand experience) might be a little more doable than I first thought. The other thing is how the boost comes in, severe spikes are no good, we need nice smooth transition into boost.
As you can see it is very pressure dependent like any other injector. The kit in Ca$h's car basically has an M9's worth of meth going into it. Dont worry Mikey your jet is still bigger
Are the ports and plenum on the Magnus IM designed to increase upper midrange torque, as opposed to higher RPM HP?

When will lucas be getting the new snail?
Mikey
? I am not sure when its getting here...should be early next week I think. I think that one is going to end up on a 2.4 car after Luke is done with testing it on the 2.0.
