Stock Motor FP Red Thread
warp9... I didn't learn that from reading a book.
I learned that from Racing, building engines, and Tuning cars. I'm not here to show how smart I am or how much I've done. I know there are lots of people who know more and have achieved far greater. What I am here to show you is that you're are wrong... and I've explained it quite well.

Johnbradley and TTP,
i am sure u guys have slapped on reds on stock motors, can u share some of thier mods, fuel selection, boost levels, and dyno #'s. thanks, an dlets put this thread back on track.

1000cc with a modded pump max out (right before going static) at 606whp corrected on our DJ. This was a reported 108% IDC according to EvoScan, and we know that around 113 they go static. 880s would likely be at around 525-530whp at the same reported IDC on our dyno I would think.
I will go back through my logs, but I think that was 12.20 out the top so it was borderline even then. Keeping it a level I know I have total fuel control (574=97%) would drop that number to around 500-505 if they flowed completely linear compared to the 1000s I used.
I know my math isnt perfect but I think its reasonably close. Then again it was also on a year old walbro so who knows if a freshy might make a difference or not.

The Red equipped cars have all been fairly similar to each other that we have done.
SD, Cosworth M2s or S2s (with the exception of Mike who has HKS272 MIVEC cams), 880s, meth, TBE, 3.5 or 4" intercooler, 30psi or so of boost. Rod bolts are the only thing we generally do to the bottom end.
Numbers depend on the jet used, but we have had them between 470-520whp at that level and the highest whp has been a built (not counting it here) 2.0 on E85 at 546 w/ 31psi. That car was also still using a MAF so it realistically has more in it.

what would be ur prediction for my future setup, and do u recommend injectors and fp at the following boost level:
tbe, intake, o2 dump, ported ex manni, 3.5'' ic + piping, mbc @ 24 psi @ 93 oct?
Thanks
Jeri,
I made 440whp on a DJ. Sorry I don't have the graph for 92. Here is a link to my most recent trip to the dyno with a mod list and lots of pics in the posts shortly there after.

So I was playing around with RC's fuel injector calculator earlier before all the replies were posted looks like I am safe with FIC 750's to at least 420 awhp which is what I am aiming for... but I plan to upgrade to ID 1000's here in the next 6 months anyway...
