Cosworth M2 IX lobe centerline?

Why does it seem like I have all the problems doing things!

Anyone have the Lobe Centerline information for the Cosworth M2 for an evo 9?
I'm trying to degree my cams right now and cannot find it anywhere.

My cams are at 132 deg intatake, 111deg exh right now and I know the intake # is off. This is at all timing marks dead on!

Kelfords advertise at 107 int and 113 exh, so I'm assuming the Cosworth are similar.

Thanks

I just refif the intake twice and got the exact same 113deg both times. I'm going to adjust both so that they are as close to the kelford 107I/113E. Sucks cause you gotta pull the belt for the 9 being since the mivec gear isnt adjustable!

Your assumption is correct ... so long as we are talking about an EVO 8.

An EVO 9 has MIVEC. All EVO 9 intake cams are statically in the fully retarded position. This is why the 132 deg ATDC figure seems strange. Since MIVEC advances the cam (as soon as you start the engine), you'll never see that 132 figure with the engine running. What you see with the engine running all depends upon what's programmed in your MIVEC map.

I am talking mivec. I will be pulling it apart again here tonight and re aligning to get 131 int 114 exh. I'm surprised I didnt hit a valve with teh intake at least 20 deg off. No weird noises or piston knock. Thanks for the help.

20 degress off?

You said you had it at:
in-132
ex-111

Spec is:

in-131
ex-114

Wheres the 20 degree difference?

I thought I posted down that I rechecked it after that post and my intake cam was at 111!

degreeing your cams is important because not all cam manufacturers design cams based on factory specs. therefore when u set them at factory timing marks, they may not hit max lift ie the lobe centerline when they are needed to in the combustion cycle. the lobe centerline essentiallyty tells you at what point in the cranks rotation they are supposed to hit max lift which in term is suppose to give u the best performance as per their design by the manufacture. however, often times people have found that you can advance or retard by small amounts to achieve different characteristics such as more low ed torque or top end pull. from what I've read some guys have retarded their exhaust cam by two degrees for best performance with these cams.
I've also talked to people who have dropped them straight in without degreeing them and no problems. cosworth did recommend degreeing them to someone I had talk to them for me.
lets just say my car runs like crap with them aligned at factory timing marks!
thanks
