i have one. i dont really like it. problem i found is the timing belt gets tighter when the engines hot. so when its cold everything sounds fine but when its hot i can hear the timing belt making noise like its too tight. i think im gonna go back to the oem one. even though the last one i had failed and i was SOOOO lucky it didnt jump time. i guess if you finally get it adjusted perfect and checked your belt for excessive play like every month then you should be fine.

Nope, we rev the 2.0ls in our drag cars to over 10k and it works just fine.

bump this! I was looking into getting a BLE tensioner when 60k service comes up, but I didn't know how reliable the factory hydraulic tensioner was

Its like getting solid lifters instead of factory hydraulic lifters, you couldnt pay me enough and its not just that I hate doing valve adjustements.

JUST SAY NO...to solid tensioners and lifters.

anyone know what the tensioners used on the early evo's and dsm's are like compared to the later model evo? I have a solid tensioner on my evo1, it was on the car when i bought it and i never really thought to question it.

We have just had a OEM tensioner FAIL killing the motor..

Do you guys with your big HP + big RPM builds use anything else other then OEM?
