Clutch upgrade finally...few questions..

Ok so I finally decided to go with what seems to be a tried and true clutch setup...the Exedy Twin HD. I've done hours of research about different clutch setups. Driveablity, longevity, effectiveness, strenth, ect...
I have a few small details I wanted you guys opinions on.
First: I want to get SS clutch lines and wondering if it makes a difference which ones to get? I know AMS makes a nice set but would I be fine with a cheaper set. I want the best, reasonably priced parts for my car.

Second: Which fluid to go with? I'm thinking that Amsoil would be a good choice. I know that's a top quality fluid. I'll be changing the transfer case, of course, and the rear diff as well.

Third: When I order the Exedy Twin HD setup does it come with EVERYTHING I need for the install? My friend's shop is going to be installing it all for me and I don't want to have the car apart and have to order something.

Fourth: How many miles do I need to put on this clutch to properly break it in? I'm assuming 500-1000 miles?

I know this is a bunch of questions but I want this to be done right and I want to know everything I possibly can before I order all these parts and install them. Like I said before I've been doing a lot of research on my own but I want some opinions from people that have run this clutch. BTW my car basically stock. I was gonna do a few things before the clutch but it started slipping a few weeks ago so it was time to take care of this stuff first. I appreciate any and all advice!

Good choice on the Exedy. First, the SS clutch lines will be a nice addition, but you get what you pay for, I don't know a lesser quality line, I went with the AMS setup, and it works great. I would assume others would work the exact same, its just a SS line for gods sake, but you never know whats out there, and are you going to risk it breaking or leaking while your on the road?

I just went with a stock fluid (best one I could find at the parts store), I am just using it for a DD so I didn't see the need to go above and beyond.

I would get a new throw out bearing, as I remember the kit didn't come with one, and as you said youd hate to have something break and have to rip it out again. They are relatively cheap, like 70 from lancershop and they can be found for even less some places.

I waited 1000 before I got on mine too hard, and after that no noises ever, not when the pedal is engaged or when downshifting either.

Again, congrats on the choice, it will serve you will if you install it correctly and give it time to break in properly. Good luck

The exedy twin comes with everything including flywheel. You might want to get an exhaust donut gasket for the downpipe if you plan on removing it.

Your car is bone stock? Unless you plan on modding past 400-450hp an exedy twin disk is total overkill. Save your money. Get a quality single disk like a spec, or competition clutch. Spend the saved money on a tune.

I like my spec stage 3. I have near 3,000 miles on it.

No reason not to use amsoil. It's not much different in price compared to stock fluids and you don't have to buy the big jug of diaqueen.

Amsoil severe gear 75-90 gl5 for TC/rear diff
Amsoil MTG 75-90 GL4 for tranny

Thanks for the quick reply. I'm prolly just gonna go with the AMS SS lines.

I heard a lot of the clutch kits didn't come with everything I needed so looks like I'll be ordering the TOB along with the clutch.

I'm gonna be going to the track more with this clutch so I wanted to make sure I broke it in properly. Thanks for all the advice. I can't wait to get this all taken care of. I've wanted a new clutch since I bought the car.

I'll post up when I get it all installed and let you know how it goes. Thanks again.

I do have a lot of plans for my car. Thats why I'm getting a clutch that will withstand it all. I like to go to the dragstrip as well.

I just checked their website, and the exedy twin is no where to be found. Can anyone chime in as to why this is?

Also, this might be some xtra insurance for all us pull-type clutch users out there:
