Clutch is shot right?

So car on a flat surface complete stop, put in gear and release the clutch and car doesn't die but limps a little and starts to move forward. And this will happen in every gear and will only die if I put foot on brake (obviously). I usually don't drive it during the week because I take the bus to school but, I'm going back home for thanksgiving break about 400 mile drive.. will she live through it?!

Basically it won't die in any gear from a complete stop with the no foot on the clutch.. Does that clarify it?

try this: drive on 5th gear, but keep the rpm low (say around 2k), then floor the gas. if the rpm shoots up without gaining speed, this means your clutch is slipping.

if this happens, welcome to the club. time for a new clutch. dont drive it far without getting it checked out first.

either your clutch is on its way out or engagement point (pedal) adjustment needs to be done. By the sound of it, clutch is going. I highly dont recommend driving 400 miles home with the evo. *have AAA on speed dial if you decide to go for it*

I used to use that old trick to test if my clutch is good but heard else where you are flooding the injectors and for turbo cars it can cause damage. someone correct me or let me know if this does any thing bad to the car.

Are you dumping the clutch or releasing it slowly? If you're releasing it slowly then it sounds fine to me. If you're dumping it then you have an issue.

I'm releasing it slowly but there's really like no "catch point" and I put no gas in while releasing the clutch either. Thanks for all the inuputs

Pure, unadulterated, 100% BS. Explain how you flood an injector that is alway full of gas.

The test is the correct one for checking the clutch.
