Transmission/clutch issues

Hey guys. I need some help on diagnosing a problem with my evo. 2 weeks ago I was getting ready to leave a parking lot when I pressed my clutch pedal I heard a loud boom and the pedal floored. Found out it was the throw out bearing that completely broke into two pieces. So I purchased a new oem bearing and the act monoloc. I dropped the transmission replaced the bearing and put it all back together. So now I go to turn on the car and it will die 2-3 secs after it cranks on. Checked the battery and it was fine. The car will stay on if I feather the throttle, but the second I let off it'll die. I tried driving down the street and I couldn't get into gears 2,3,and 4. I felt like the clutch pedal wasn't engaged. I adjusted the clutch pedal and still nothing. I also would get the aroma of a burned up clutch. I'm just confused at where to look now. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks so much for any help.

If you couldn't get into 2,3,4 chances are that your clutch isn't fully disengaging.

If car won't stay running at idle in neutral, you have other issues.

Sounds like the clutch is dragging, did you check the pressure plate and clutch when you had it apart? Maybe the spring broke on the clutch disc...

Yes I checked the clutch. The springs were fine and the surfaces looked good also.

I'm going to try and bleed the slave some more.

Today I got a chance to mess with the evo and I pretty much think it's the transmission that's causing my issue. I bled the slave more thoroughly. Still the same outcome. The car will drive but I cannot get into gears 2 and 3. I adjusted the pedal both ways to see if that would fix anything. Still nothing. I also tried to put the car in 2nd and 4th with the car off then turn it on while pressing the clutch. When I would try and drive it would pop out of both gears. So I'm pretty sure it's time to have the transmission rebuilt. Does anyone have an idea of what failed inside of the transmission to not allow gears 2 and 4 to work properly?
