I realize that this reply is a bit OT, but is there any news on when Chad is releasing the new BBK-Full XL, or whatever it is to be called?

If you are going to move up to the Red, then I´d upgrade from the stock WGA to the 18 PSI FP actuator if running pump gas and 28# or less of boost. If you are going to run meth, or high octane gasoline at over 28 PSI, then I´d go with the 25# actuator.

But I thought that FP was shipping the Red turbos with their 18 PSI actuator and not the stocker. If you are gonna run over 28 PSI, then I´d order your turbo fitted with the 25# unit.

I'm really getting sick of people saying a single pump cant go over "460-470"... Where in the hell are you getting your data, because it is wrong! Pump gas a single pump 255 can go to 600hp. I have seen this over and over. Now if you are running E85 (which require a lot more fuel) then no a single pump won't go to 600hp. About 500 they max out. It also has a lot to do with what size injectors you have, if you have 4 or 8, if you have an upgraded fuel rail, if you have a fuel reg and the list goes on...

Also the Black will not make much more on pump over the red. I would say about 20hp more over the red and I would be happy. The compressor wheel is larger and more efficient than the Red so I would say at the same boost level you should see 10-15hp and then because of the cool charge temps you may be able to turn your boost up 1psi. I have not seen the data so I am not for certain but it just makes since. It is not like taking the stock turbo, which practically blows hot air at idle and throwing on a Black. Totally different comparison. The comparison between the Red and the Black is almost the same. The big reason being at 27psi on pump the Red is still well within its efficiency ratting and compressor map.

Pros - improved flow and hp

Cons - cost

No porting does not 'weaken' the turbo....

Gen 2 install kit is $199 if you have an Evo 8

I'll be putting up a post in the dyno section once I get a graph, but on my Black on a mustang dyno I just put down 400/340. For fuel I was on about 12 gallons of E85 and 1 gallon or so of 91(still left in the tank, didn't get all of it out), and my double pumper and fuel rail didn;t come in so I was stuck with runnnig my 1000cc's and a single walbro. My tuner stopped at about 90-95% IDC, which was at 25psi. So once I go back next week or the week after for a retune on the double pumper, fuel rail, and 100% E85 in the tank, I'm sure that I will see 450 or close to it at about 30psi.
