would look sick, but be rediculously expensive and most likely would not hold up to the higher boost levels that evos run.

It can be done pretty easily, something that I have thought about doing and may still do.

it is definitely strong enough to hold 50psi and it has some characteristics that are stronger then steel, but not all.

And there is the kicker. I've dealt with some carbon fiber components in a hobby of mine (RC Airplanes) that suffered from poor layup/too much or too little epoxy and had them de-laminate, not something you want going on with your IC piping.

This would have to be aerospace quality work really.

I would definitely be interested. Anything that keeps air cooler going into the engine is a plus, especially turbo cars. Is your guy still going to make them? I could send him my OEM piping to make a mold. Please PM me if its going to happen.

Thanks!

Carbon fiber boost tubes....

The other positive side is heat reduction before intercooler and intake.

It’s already possible and almost here

I currently own a 2017 Ford Focus St and have been working with a manufacturer of carbon composites. The problem for a one-off piece is the cost for tooling, etc. Now, we have address both the heat and pressure concerns, and have convinced that if there are roughly 30 orders in place, the tooling would be free. For those that wonder “why”, these pipes are not affected by weather like metal, disperse heat better, and are a 3rd of the weight of aluminum and 33% stronger at the same thickness as aluminum. These can be made at a price point of $850. Let me know.
