25psi Wastegate on 30psi
^ see this is different than most EBC. It is the HKS EVC-S. The only settings it has is as followed and what I have it currently set at.
Offset - 90%
Response - 90%
Target boost 0-36.2psi set at 29.5psi
Warning boost 30.5psi
Warning drop off 50%
All those setting I'm still hitting 35+psi in 2rd. I wont do a 4th gear
god knows what psi it will shoot to.
I need the response set up high or boost won't come on till almost 6k then when it does come on it hits 30psi then drops to 22psi instantly...
The offset HKS reccomend on 100%. I tried messing with that. The boost comes on early with high responce but if the offset is to low it hits 30psi by 4k then instantly drops to 22psi then builds slowly to 30psi by 8k... The EBC with a low offset makes the car boost creep.
No matter what I do I can't get it to work correctly.
I even thought that the drop % once I hitting my warning boost of 30.5 was not set high enough. So I went from 50% drop off to 75% Drop off and it still wants to go to 35psi! It is not preload because I though that so I took off my 25psi gate and put on the 18psi gate with 0 preload and the flapper not even seated and the &^%$(*& EBC will still make the car go to 35psi.
I did one 1st-5th with all setting at 100% and it spikes 35psi and holds 32psi at 8k with a 29.5psi target boost... That is not safe at all on stock block considering I put down 520 on 30psi in 90 degree weather and now it's 40 degrees outside and I'm running 35psi.
I'm going to play with it a bit more than I'll give up and it try to send it back to Chris at MAP for my money back. This would be a great EBC for anyone wanting to run 35psi

You say that you are running little if no spring pressure, right? As I understand it the WGA is not preloaded at all. Have you tried running higher levels of spring pressure? If so, did you still experience boost creep with the higher spring pressure setting? Or, have you only tried it with the 25 PSI actuator non preloaded?
^ Yes I tried the 25psi and the 18psi gate on exstreme preload all the way to no preload and all the settings on the EBC that are possible. With little to no preload the car comes on late and drops hard after it hits 35psi. I just can't get it to spike lower than 35psi. No matter what I do. Thats why i started messing with the preload thinking that may have been my problem but the 25psi with exstreme preload acts the same as the 18psi with no preload. That why it has to be the EBC not fuctuaning correctly. I'm pulling the EBC tonight and running wastegate to see what the car does. I will prob put the 25psi back and preload it for a 27-28psi spike on wastegate then I'll put on a Hallman Pro RX and tune it at 30psi.
If when you remove the boost controller and just increase spring pressure via turning the actuator rod and you STILL get the overboost spike...then it has to be turbine housing´s wastegate bypass port(AKA wg hole) not flowing well enough to slow the Red´s turbine wheel down in your particular state of tune.
^ +1 to that... Then it comes off and we port the **** out of it. I don't think that should be the problem since it has no preload the flapper is opening fully and push I have it externaly gatted with 2.5" pipe
I'll see what the problem is
I'll see what the problem is
