Low oil pressure? Bad pump or bad bearings.
If you have the b-belt too tight that will make a whining noise but you will hear it all of the time. If you have the rear balance shaft out of time that will make noise above 4K rpm.
I also put a new belt in it the last time.

I can hear the whining at idle and gets louder as the rpms rise.
But it cant be the b-shaft tensioner because it whined before they even replaced that b-belt & tensioner. Then after the noise was still there we replaced it. Same problem.
Today they tried retensioning the Timing belt a few times with out success.
The only other thing they mssed with is the lifters.
Could anything in the process of intalling the lifters or cam gears or anything around the cam gear cause the whining noise?
