DIY Idea: Making a LICP bracket for those without one...

Forgive me it this doesn't make much sense... but I was a bit bored...

Was reading on the LICP threads where people liked a brand of LICP whichever brand it be, but there were no brackets available. So I'm just wondering why not make one out of something?

Here's what i was thinking... (The items I'm using is not what to ACTUALLY use... it's just a representation using crap items I just threw together)

* 1 silicone coupler cut to about 2-3 inches in width
* t-clamp
* something that could be used as the bracket to the OEM point on the car

So here's the idea... just using a piping similar...

Take the silicone coupler and cut it 2-3 inches in width (pardon my crapppy rubber example and little width)

Now fit it to the piping diameter and cut enough to make it snug. Doesn't matter if there's the circumference isn't perfect...

Now for this example I used an old t-clamp but I'm sure there may be somethng stronger that can be used...

Drill a hole just enough for the bolt of the main t-clamp to go through and make an "L" shape... the image I did though was short...

The idea is to let the tab be long enough to underlap the clamp so as you tighten it, the clamping force will keep your bracket secure...

Now tighten the bracket to the silicone piece on the pipe to clamp it down... this is the idea...

The clamp would be hidden from sight pretty much so that shouldn't be an issue I suppose.

It's an idea... possibly a dumb one, but I figure it's an idea for those who may not be too comfy with the fact that there isn't one... I figure if I do decide to buy LICP that has no bracket I would try a proper setup..

So what do you guys think? (other than it maybe being ridiculous? )

Predrilled flat stock could be used similarly instead of a second t-bolt clamp, like this setup sold for $35 *ouch*

Yeah I know the stuff I used wasn't really to say use it... just to represent the theory...

Really? I've got the ETS Version 2 LICP and at just the right throttle and harmonics it will buzz against something (trying to figure out what, can't really tell while I'm driving). So this is a very valid idea IMHO.
