You could have given him a good run on the stock turbo if all your concerned about is trying to beat him. There's plenty of guys around the country this year running mid to low 11's on the stock turbo list. Personally I think the 35R is outdated technology. You should be able to take him on pump gas as long as you can drive the car. Won't be as fun though on the street.

You are still on the stock block correct? Personally, I would not push the limits of the 35 on a stock block with E-85. I'm not sure why I see a continuing trend of individuals installer bigger turbos into cars and keeping the stock cams...it just doesn't make sense.

Well I run a similar setup, plain 35R .63 ar exhaust, 32psi, e85, 272 hks cams, AEM, a walbro 255, inline bosche 044, 1150cc injectors and the time/trap in my sig (11.140 @ 131.82).

You will need a good tune. I have run everything from 12.4 @ 116 to what I run now with the only difference being the tune/AEM. You might also want to get an AEM. I was able to hit 11.6 @ 123 on the stock ecu and I am sure with the new stuff out now you can probably better that, but AEM will definitely get the most out of your setup.

If you guys go to insane speeds, he will still get you because of aero/gearing, so try to keep it below 160 or so

a single walbro is enough for that setup?

No, read again, I have an inline bosche 044. Don't get the inline walbro, it sux (burned though 2 of them and they don't flow as well). If I build my engine I will need to go with a Y parallel setup instead of an inline series setup and probably bigger injectors as I am already maxed out at about 550-560whp on this setup with e85.

HTA35 is argueably one of the best street turbos out there when matched with a built 2.3. I believe the wheel is *slightly* smaller or the same as a 35r, but it spools sooner then a GT35R, although it seems to make about the same top end power. Here is a link, albeit an old one, of Mellon reviewing the HTA35 https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/se...-reviewed.html

That set up should destroy that car. I ran 11.5 on stock turbo, TBE, fuel pump, FMIC and IC pipes, still on stock everything else.. You just need to know how to drive your car IMO.

11.5 / 125mph is a good number and you'll need at least 500whp and good shifting to consistently beat him. With my RNR gt35r on my 03, I was able to trap up to 127mph but due to my clutch locking out and below average shifting, I was only managed the best of 11.8. I was pushing 530 whp/C16 on dynojet at the time.

11.5 can be done with 400whp and some driving. If its only going to be on the track it doesnt take more than 460whp to match a vette at 460whp. Luke has run 11.22@124 at 430whp. I have trapped 123 at 425-435whp and some lousy shifting.

Good luck. If you're running straight pump gas and no cams.........i still think he'll take you.

Just my opinion.
