Carbon/Carbon ?

How does the Cusco twin plate carbon/carbon compare to a 'standard' Excedy - which is the better choice for the street/daily driver and track?

Does nobody have the Cusco twin plate clutch? Is it that bad ?

Is it not worth the extra couple hundred bucks to get the carbon disks compared to cerametallic then?

Mine will be here this week. I purchased the carbon because of its acclaim in high horsepower supras. It really is the best material you can buy. It grabs better with high heat. The opposite of other clutch materials.

Excellent, thanks. Would be cool if you could post your experience with it when you get it on the Evo

I have the single clutch and it's perfect for street driving. It's a lot easier to slip compared to a twin plate and it can still hold up to 400 hp.

I am purchasing the twin-plate Cusco as soon as my stock clutch dies. Too bad I know how to drive or else I'd get the new clutch sooner...

Yeah Chris I noticed that you were looking at it too when I searched for some info on it ... Did you get any recommendations?

BTW never noticed a blue one in my neighborhood- I guess you moved since you got your screen name.

Yep - I moved from lovely HB to No. VA... $20K/year will do that to you...

Anyway, I've done a lot of research on the available clutches before deciding on the Cusco. The fact that it's carbon/carbon for durability, that it accounts for slipping without degrading the clutch, etc. were among many factors. I don't drag race, but with that clutch, I could. Plus at $600-$900 to do a clutch change, the less times it's needed, the better.
