Max Boost on Stock Turbo
Here is something to keep in mind. When people say "I run 27psi all day on pump", what they are trying to tell you is that the boost is set to allow the spike (the initial ramp up of the boost) to hit the 27psi mark....it doesn't stay there and you must know this. I run the same 26-27psi on pump daily, but by 7k I'm down to 21-22. When i run 30psi on 100octane I see 24-26psi at 6800-7000 rpm (its very cold in NY). stock 9 turbo btw. My 8 turbo went after very few 30psi spikes

I have seen the evo9 turbos in the rally cars spike 38psi and hold 32-34 but they only hold up for a few races. I have seen the 9 turbos at 28-29psi on pump gas for an on the edge street tune. As for the 8 turbo the most i have seen is 29-30 psi and for a pump gas tune 25-26 psi .
On my X (fully built 2.4L high compression motor) I'm experimenting with maxing out the stock turbo to get the most torque out of it possible. I can get it to just barely touch 35psi but it tapers badly to 15psi by 7K. This is on E85, don't try at home. I find the same as BLKCarbonEVO. I get 450ft-lb of torque with maxed out boost but HP tapers out to the same 400whp whether I peak at 30psi or 35psi.
