Iveytune Tests the FP BLACK
NO!
Then your block is trashed, the valves will be bent, the head might have gouges in the chamber... possibly other damage outside the engine... it will cost alot more money, and why f up a perfectly good block by putting a hole in it... can't even resell the old stuff then if you go 2.4

Rockman and the gang,
You know I agree with you guys 100 percent. I have been receiving some "shady" advice from the local tuner where I am then. I was told exactly this:
Me: "I'd like to build the block before I run 30 psi boost on my low mileage engine "27k miles" I want to run the fp black eventually
Tuner: There is no need to build the block, simply get cams, injectors, headstuds, fuel pump, tune and crank up boost.
Me: "are you telling me I don't need to get a block? what about the engine internals and the stress on the motor?"
TUner" You're fine, we have customers who run this setup all the time"
Me: "my transmission might give in its the 6 speed for such tq
Tuner" we have customers, DRIVE IT TILL IT FAILS"
I then came on here, to really understand what is going on. The tuner's logic has made me second guess common sense.
I'll be looking for a good long block combo before I start anything. And collecting "parts in the closet" like rockman. THat's the most economical and logical thing to do.
Thanks for the advice. time to knix the tuner and go to one whose willing to listen and build the motor and not throw me off balance.

Its common sense. Its the tuners job to sell you in on a tune and some service. He has to eat to you know. You would think he would jump all over the chance to do a built motor combo and for safety and you can make WAY MORE POWER safely and easier. Sorry but that guy is a moron you can run on stock block yes of course lots of people do on here. Im not one of them. When i start pushing power i dont need to have that fear of if i punch it will it can it blow a rod moment. Not worth it. Just build the damn thing and no worries ever. Again spend your money on getting a built head and block first then any mods after that are gravy and your car will last you and take all the abuse. What i have a issue with is ITS YOUR MONEY at the end of the day you have to be happy with your choices. Its not really the tuners job to say hey you should do ABC. He will tune what you bring and put in front of them. Most stand up tuners will not lead you astray but there are bad apples. Common sense tells me and YOU if you double the output of a motor only designed for 276whp there could be problems right just because your neighbor has 500whp does not mean you can do the same thing every evo is different
I wish. I don't charge enough to afford a dyno. One day. I rent time on Super Street's AWD Dynojet in Farmingdale, it's 10 minutes away from me. Below is the link to this car tuned on the stock ECU on their Dynojet.

Ok back on the dyno with Scott's car.
HKS VPRO, 3.30 VER, Iveytune "spl" data :-)
Kelford 272 Cams
BR head
SBR 2.4
All nicely painted, this car is very well kept :-)
This is what we have so far on e85.
WG actuator needs to be adjusted wont hold or make much boost.
