Mivec vs Non Mivec spool characteristics

I was told that the Mivec tuning allows for earlier spool on upgraded turbos like the Red? I was curious to know whether or not this was true and if so what would the rpm range be for a ix vs. viii in spool.

it allows earlier spool for all turbo's, no matter what size. variable valve timing changes the overlap, and is a massive tuning tool. i'd say spool pickup of almost 500rpm should be about right, but you get to keep the max power and high rpm rather than tapering off from the high overlap.
