If your talking Exedy then most see around 30k. If your talking Tilton and Quartermaster etc then around 10-20

what brand & model? and what type of material are the discs made out of?

what kind of power is the car making?

disc material and driving style will ultimately decide this

quartermaster units are known to last as little as 10-20k miles due to aggressive disc material

exedy hd twin units can last over double that

Stock clutch on stock power will prob last 100k miles. The abuse most people put on a twin disc(usually making 450+hp and tracking) 10-20k is what I've seen.

If my stocker is still strong at 31k, I assume a twin will last at least double. That's if I driv it like I do my stocker.

Gotta remember that there are twice the friction surfaces since you have two discs with two sides each. This equates to roughly double the wear. This is why a twin will not usually last as long as a single disc. If the avg. wear limit is .040" on the clutch disc, that would mean that .020" would need to wear off each side of a single disc. With a twin, only .010" needs to wear on each friction surface before that limit is reached. Any of the lighter 7.25" clutches like the Tilton, Quarter Master or SPEC Mini needs a good bit of slipping to get off the line since they offer no inertia. This will wear them quickly on a street car. My SPEC mini twin lasted about 12K before letting go... I've got a SPEC Super Twin now and so far it has made it about the same mileage and hasn't slipped yet. I'd be surprised if it made it 30K, but that is just the nature of the beast.

I am at around 15k on my Exedy HD and no problems to date. Never launched and very little abuse. Only been to the track a few times and it handled it like a champ. I am with everyone else who posted, driving style and clutch foot habits will ultimately decide the longevity. However, from what I have read and experienced with my twin, I think it is one of the best (if not the best) in terms of wear and clutch life.

If you are shopping around for a twin and considering the Exedy, you will not be disappointed by its performance.

Good luck

You heard wrong. ACT clutches are notorious for lockout issues.

Exedy HD>HKS Twin Disk all day long. Don't get a HKS clutch.
