Sounds like you need to replace your valve cover gasket and while your at it you should replace your spark plug tube seats as well. You should be able to get these items from your local parts shop if not online.

Yea that's about the only seal up there that would leak oil other then the PCV system, shouldn't be more then about $40 for the gasket and tube seals, and less then an hour of your life.

Yea valve cover gasket, replace it. Very easy.

I don't know about the evo 7 valve cover, same as the 8 I guess.

Here's one for the evo 8:

Should probably replace these too:

I wouldn't get from Lancershop though, just an example of what you would need

yes the evo 8 valve cover gasket is the same as the evo 8 , one thing u can do is see if the bolts are torqued correctly ...

in my car to get a real clean torque i had to retorque several times , dont just torque one time and leave it like that , the gasket starts to sit down , and will take u several times to get them all down to tq specs , also theres a part were on the manulal tells u to use silicone rtv

Agreed. I had the issue of a oil leak from the valve cover. Just need to re torque correctly. Tighten each bolt about a turn and half one at a time until you reach proper torque spec. If you look at the valve cover gasket where the oil is leaking you will probably notice it is squashed or jammed in more than the rest of the gasket. Make sure the gasket is sitting flat before you begin to retorque.

If it's coming from the head, it's not a leaky valve cover, could be a blown head gasket, but that's not above the manifold...HG is below the manifold. Check to see if its coming from the oil feed from the head.
