AMS sells both the upper and lower lines.
I ****ing knew there had to be 2 lines. The ****ing techna-fit line is just the upper line. I wish I knew this before I bought that.

I'm a firm believer in removing the pill on the EVO, and upgrading high pressure lines (e.g. clutch and brake) in any application. Anything that reduces line wall flex is a benefit. It's oftentimes the sum of small differences that add up to noticeable improvements.

I took my slave cylinder off to remove the pill and couldn't see anything that was removable. I poked it with a small Allen wrench and nothing. I have had the car since new so I know it hasn't been removed already

how important is the upper line cause isn't the upper part already a metal tube from Mitsu?

If you do this, you might want to get the fork stop and/or (double wave spring) for your clutch/tranny. I have heard problems with the clips popping out due to the pill removal. My buddy had clip issues and he removed his pill. Now whether this was the pill only/mostly or a combination of that and buggering up an install I am not sure.

I am sure it's just one of those hit or miss issues that can be prevented altogether with the fork stop/double spring, but sometimes you can get by without any fix.

I now have a clutch with hydraulic TOB so it doesn't matter. But i drove about 10k miles, stock clutch with numerous launches without any issues with no pill. I have since removed the pill on a handful of locals cars all without any issues.

The upper line is the rubber line. The lower line is a hard line. I don't really see the point now in replacing the lower line with a steel braided one. Only benefit I see in replacing the lower one with a braided line is if your taking your removing your tranny often.

I have known many people who have had the lower hard steel line crack and break on them and cost them a lot more than the $40 it costs for a ss line.

There are companies that offer a full line replacement in one single line. Not just 2 lines anymore. From my understanding they work just as well
