Ryu's hunting for 9's on the Stock Block
Ryu, can you give any advice on launching? I understand if you don’t want to give up your secrets; but it seems you have had great success with what you are doing and haven’t broke any drivetrain parts. any help would be greatly appreciated. (I suck at launching)
No secrets really. Just make sure you preload your drivetrain while staging up, hit the 2step, and quick slip the clutch. It's something you need to get a feel for.
some people pull the e brake on the first light and then let it creep to the second and when launching release the e brake...i haven't tried it yet myself though so i'm not too sure how well it works.
I'm aware of that method, but I have never found myself ever needing the Ebrake to help preload the drivetrain.
So when you say preload the drivetrain, are you holding the clutch pedal so that the clutch is at like 1% into the friction zone while youre 2stepping?? Doesnt that get you to start rolling forward while staged??
Or by pre-load are you holding the clutch pedal just before where the clutch begins to grab so when you begin your launch there is no dead zone in the pedal?
