I just bought an EVO 8 5days ago, and learned to drive stick.

accordingly, I had some problem of getting stalled, and grind some gears,

anyway, I hear strange metal tapping or lapping sound under my feet when I shift the gear from 1st to 2nd.

How about you guys?
is it seemed to be normal? or I already messed up with transmission? I am so worried.

tell me what's going on!!

But what if he stalls it when he can't hear the engine sounds, since his stereo is up?

Chan, if you are in doubt as to what that noice is, take the car back to the dealer and get it checked out. After all it is under the warranty and will cost you nothing.

and as for taking it to the dealer, sure it doesnt cost you anything money wise..
