to anyone that has bought any "turbo install kits" recently to put an evo 9 turbo on an evo 8...

we've had a few here (because of the amount of BBK's we install) that we've purchased to utilize... and from time to time we have used different suppliers...

the last batch we have received have the wrong size hole drilled in both the oil feed banjo from the head and the banjo into the oil feed on the turbo itself...

the holes for the banjo feed are also offset and not properly aligned...

we do not normally use these fittings, as we just use the coolants hoses, gaskets, and such. Our general practice it to reuse all of the fittings from the stock turbo.

im working with the vendors we purchase these from to pinpoint the problem and make people aware, id hate to see a client with one of our turbos, FP, or other to lose a turbo because of these fittings!

All you need is the IX's J pipe to make any IX varient fit on an VIII. Either way good find CBRD

 

just to add a little to this. Inspect the J-pipe for pin holes around the flange weld..I have seen several that have had holes in them out of the box and right off the showroom floor.
