I would suspect the egr going bad before the ecu, Just delete it and never worry again.

Hi guys, I just got this code too. I'm losing power when I gun the accelerator but it works fine if I just step on it lightly. I also hear a loud hissing boost noise once it hits about 4000 rpm. Would a bad egr do that to the car? It loses power that I can't go past 65MPH. Help please

Check the hoses that go to the EGR solenoid. Its located under the throttle body. When the hoses pop off, it creates a massive boost leak. Use zip-ties to keep them sercure.

If you have that code, its a 99% chance the hoses came off.

Do a boost leak test if your leaking boost from there its the gasket leaking so replace it..if its not leaking from there test the solenoid.

Shortly after purchasing my car second hand I started getting this code and a really bad starting issue. The previous owner had receipts for a valve and solenoid replacement. I blew a line off the valve a time or two. After reinstalling them and zip tying them down. I still pulled this code. I tracked down the vacuum lines using the diagram on the hood. I ended up finding the lines reversed on the solenoid. After switching them and zip tying them down I never had the problem again. I know its pretty elementary but make sure the lines are on the right ports.

if your lines are all secured 100% and you dont want to change out anything.. make sure if you ever noticed your Hose lines have a color GREEN AND YELLOW make sure the there in the right places from the SOLENOID TO YOUR EGR.. i ENDED FINDING my lines were crisscrossed on the EGR.. after i replaced my HEAD years ago and till NOW i finally FIGURED IT out ahhahaahha DUMB MEEE yes but HEY i figured it out soo ... if all your Hoses are in the right places and you still pop a Code Change out the SOLENOID and your code will be gone thats your best bet

I am sure that you probably already have, but follow the vac line and make sure that both ends are connected. I had one end pop off at the EGR. Zip tied the connection in place and then the other end of the line popped off over on the passenger side of the car, not off the EGR itself. It caused the code to be thrown again.
